Seychelle Reverse Osmosis Priming Guide

Seychelle Reverse Osmosis Priming Guide

1) Unpack and Rinse Components

Remove packaging and loose manufacturing dust

  1. Wash your hands thoroughly before handling replacement filters or internal tank components.

  2. Remove all outer plastic wrapping and protective caps from the sediment, carbon, and RO membrane cartridges.

  3. Lightly rinse the exterior of the filter cartridges under cool tap water to remove any loose surface dust.

2) Prime Pre-Filters & Media

Saturate pores and release trapped air pockets

  • Quick-Change Plug-In Cartridges: Seat pre-filters (PP/CTO) into their designated housing slots. They will prime automatically during the initial system filling cycle.

3)Install the Reverse Osmosis Membrane

Ensure watertight seal alignment

  1. Align the RO membrane cartridge into its assigned port (typically Stage 2 or 3).

  2. Twist or push firmly until the double O-rings sit completely flush inside the housing to prevent unfiltered bypass water.

4) Perform the Initial System Flushing Cycle

Flushes out carbon fines and food-grade storage fluids

  1. Fill the raw water reservoir with cold tap water and power on/plug in the countertop unit.

  2. Allow the system to produce its first full tank of filtered water (note that early water may appear gray or dark due to loose carbon fines, which is normal).

  3. Discard the first 2 full tanks of filtered waterDo not drink this initial water.

5) Final Inspection & Ready for Use

Verify water clarity and seal integrity

  1. Check all housing seals, water tanks, and connection joints for leaks.

  2. By the 3rd tank cycle, the water should dispense completely clear with a neutral taste and stable flow. The unit is now ready for daily consumption.

Key Maintenance Rules

  • Water Temperature: Always use cold tap water (under 100°F / 38°C) during priming and operation. Hot water damages the RO membrane layer.

  • Extended Disuse: If the unit remains unused for more than 7–10 days, discard the first tank of water upon return before drinking.
